Clean install of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Siege of Dragonspear and Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Editionģ. You need to download the following programs:Ġ. Most mods today still use weidu to install mods. If you don't know, weidu was the original program written by Wesley Weimer to modify and correctly organize mod components to the Infinity Engine's files, allow the game to be modded. Installing and modding BG: EE and BG2: EE can seem imposing and time consuming, but actually you can have an easier time with a helpful weidu frontend program called Big World Setup and the tips in this guide that you are reading. Guide to Installing and Modding Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Siege of Dragonspear and Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition using Big World Setup for Newbies I realized about 2 hours in that the best way to do this would be to install and mod BG:EE and BG2:EE separately, which is what I recommend, but I wanted to learn the hard way how to actually install BG: EET. So I decided to reinstall everything, including SoD and BG2: EE.Īfter I got all the mods to install on BG: EE using BWS and Modmerge, which took about an hour, I realized that I could install everything with the Enhanced Edition Trilogy setup instead of the BG: EE setup.ġ5 hours later, I've finally successfully installed and modded BG: EET (BG1:EE + SoD + BG2:EE + Ascension). Then I tried to install Siege of Dragonspear today, and found out the hard way that I should have installed it first. 6.So two weeks ago I spent about an hour installing and modding BG: EE with Big World Setup.6.9K Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition.420 Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition.88 Persistent Worlds & Multiplayer for NWN (not EE).409 Custom Content & Community Exp Pack.* BiG World Textpack: The Mod itself (BiG World Textpack v17.0.1 ENGLISH.7z)īiG World Installpack: The Mod itself (BiG World Installpack v17.0.5.7z)ĪTweaks: The Mod itself (atweaks-v452.zip) * BiG World Textpack: Translations and sounds (BiG World Textpack v17.0.1 ENGLISH.7z) Just found aTweaks v453 (aTweaks-master.zip) so I guess that will do.īG1 Unfinished Business: The Mod itself (bg1ub-master.zip)Ĭonvenient Ammunition: The Mod itself (ConvinientAmmunition.zip) Also if I follow the link to Unfinished Business file it's now called win-bg1ub-v15.2.zip so maybe I can just use that instead? Any idea what other site I could find the rest of the files from?Įdit. Is this actually the case? Or have I just jacked up my log? Here's the message that I can't make heads or tails of:īWS installation doesn't work now as seems to be down. I've now un-then-re-installed it a second time, and am back to the place where it's telling me I already have mods installed. And before my second attempt (then figuring I'd settle for the "recommended" selection), it seemed to be urging me to do a Restore, because it said I already had mods installed (despite having uninstalled-then-reinstalled BG1EE). I did a Backup before my first attempt at installing the "maximized" selection of mods. It states "Backup important BG1EE files" and "If you have done a fresh installation of the game, it is recommended to do a backup now." (Presumably "fresh installation of the game" means uninstalling-then-reinstalling it?) What "important BG1EE files" is this talking about? Do I need to bother with this? I'm confused as to the purpose of BWS's Backup/Restore functionality. I've fucked up a couple of installs already, and am trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Hey guys, total noob to mods here, trying to figure out BWS.
